The spring has sprung the grass has ris, I wonder where the birdies is!
Strolling along on the wooded banks of the river, the early morning air is cool and fragrant. At this time of the morning there is no one around and the only sounds to be heard were those of singing birds, gently moving waters and the hushed rustle of leaves blown by a gentle breeze.
Here in this haven of peace within our local park, there was an almost tangible sense of tranquillity that created a deep feeling of serenity within. Wandering along at this time of the morning, clad in simple clothing, one recognised that we need so very little to experience true happiness in the very real sense of this word. A little food, clothing, a roof over our heads, friends, and the willingness to leave ourselves open to the beauty that surrounds us, is to experience a level of contentment and fulfilment that little else can bring.
A plain life and a quiet mind
excel the finest luxuries
an easy heart and tattered robe
better far than finest silk

You may or may not have signed uo to Plant Life Scotland, but in their April newsletter, is the following lovely poem:
Let’s take a walk where the minibeasts thrive
where the tall grass can tickle the tips of shoulders
and the tune of tiny wings is playful and bright
Don’t be afraid to uncurl your hands
playing the golden-green strings of the meadow’s quartet
celebrate the chaos of the rough uncut
and take a moment
a breath
reset
Purples and blues are scattered like stars
amongst the bedstraw of lady’s and sometimes of heath
catch the sweetest of scents in warming air
let go
enjoy
release
Take nothing but dust that fills creases of sleeves
From this home to creatures of song
And let’s walk again soon through these rambling leaves
A meadow to flourish among
